Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 July 2026
These terms govern your use of the Echo application and website ("the service"), operated by Echo ("Echo", "we"). By using Echo you agree to them.
What Echo is
Echo is a macOS app: you select text, press a shortcut, and Echo returns an AI-generated transformation of that text (translation, reply, cleanup, summary, email, or your own instruction). Results are produced by an AI model and returned to you in place.
Your account
Using Echo requires an account (Google sign-in or an email sign-in link). Keep your account information accurate. Accounts are personal — one account per person, not shared or resold.
Trial, subscriptions, and billing
- New accounts get a 7-day free trial with a limited daily allowance — no card required.
- Paid plans give full access, billed monthly or yearly at the price shown at checkout. Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record; their terms apply to the transaction.
- Subscriptions renew automatically. You can cancel anytime; access continues to the end of the paid period. Refunds are described in our Refund Policy.
- Prices may change; changes apply from your next renewal, never mid-period, and we will tell you first.
Fair use
Echo is built for a person writing. To keep it fast and affordable for everyone, we may apply reasonable technical limits that ordinary personal use will not encounter, and we may suspend accounts that circumvent them.
Acceptable use
- No automated, scripted, or programmatic access — Echo is for humans using the app.
- No attempts to reverse-engineer the app, probe the backend, or extract credentials.
- No use of the service to produce or process unlawful content, or to violate others' rights.
Your content
The text you select and the results you produce are yours. You grant us the limited right to process your text solely to generate your result — nothing else. We do not store your text server-side and do not use it to train AI models.
AI results
Results are generated by an AI model and can be wrong, incomplete, or inappropriate for your context. Review before you rely on them. You are responsible for what you do with a result — especially in professional, legal, or medical settings.
Availability and warranty
Echo is provided "as is". We work to keep it fast and reliable, but we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we depend on third-party providers (AI, hosting, payments) that can have their own outages.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Termination
You can stop using Echo and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms; if we do so without cause, we will refund the unused part of your period.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on this page with a new date. Continuing to use Echo after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of France, without affecting mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in. Contact: [email protected].
