How to reply to an email with AI on a Mac
Select the message you’re answering
Highlight the email or the message you received. Echo reads only what you select, so it answers the part that matters instead of the whole thread.
Press your shortcut, pick Reply
Press 2 for Reply. Or type your own instruction — say no politely, ask for a deadline — if the answer needs to go a particular way.
Refine it, then send
The draft is editable in the popup, and you can keep nudging it: shorter, warmer, more formal. Then replace your selection with it, or copy it across.
Every inbox you already answer in
Echo has no inbox of its own and no mail account to connect. It reads whatever you have selected, so it works in the client you already use.
Apple Mail
Answer a message in the app macOS already gave you, in the window it is already open in.

Select the message in Safari or Chrome and write the reply in the same tab.

Select the message you want to answer in whatever app it is in, press your Echo shortcut and choose Reply. Echo reads the selected message and drafts an answer, which you can edit before it goes anywhere.
